This is the best of all times for enjoying your Bonsai.

Beautiful Spring weather…your Bonsai are putting forth or have already put forth their most beautiful array of foliage and needles. This makes you forget the rough and unsightly bare sticks that were so evident just a few months ago. But let’s don’t forget that we still need to water and fertilize even more now that the Bonsai are in active growth.

For us here in the Dallas, Texas area, we normally hit 90 degrees this month and with that higher temperature we need to begin watering twice daily. Also, we must not forget those drying winds that come along with the higher temperatures. Gosh, you say…”How can you water so much and not get root rot?” Remember that this is why we use such a porous soil mix.

Nearly all of our Bonsai are plants that need moisture surrounding their roots, but they don’t want to sit in water. They will drown or become victims of root rot. We’re not trying to scare you here. We just want you to be aware of the simple requirements of enjoying your Bonsai and of keeping them in the best of health.

What’s happening here at Dallas Bonsai Garden…

We just got in two containers of tools, pots and supplies from Japan and one from China also (Chinese Figures). It will take us a week or so to get these items back up on the website so be patient. Lots of new Tokoname pots. Lots of our regular line of pots. Lots of Masakuni tools and so forth. A new fertilizer for applying without dilution. All the new plastic potting utensils.
